Job location: Upper Austria, Austria
Head of Procurement (w/m/x)
Create structure. Manage growth.
District of Grieskirchen
Full-time (from 38 hours per week)
Your Future Role:
You will take over a purchasing organization experiencing strong growth and bring structure, clarity, and strategic direction to a dynamic environment. You will develop a previously strongly operationally focused area into a strategically managed purchasing department with a sustainable supplier structure.
You will ensure material availability without compromise – even under constantly changing conditions – and position purchasing as a central success factor for production, logistics, and the entire company.
You will lead a team of approximately 20 people, which has grown significantly in the past year, create clear responsibilities, and develop it into a high-performing, professionally positioned unit. You will sharpen existing processes, reduce parallel structures, and consistently establish transparency.
You will act present and decisive, negotiate nationally and internationally on an equal footing, and accompany the strategic change towards increased external procurement – not from a distance, but in the middle of the action.
You Offer:
You have a completed academic education (technical or economic) and bring a strong technical background. You understand complex technical requirements, can discuss them with suppliers at a technical level, and make well-founded decisions.
You have many years of experience in strategic purchasing and have already been responsible for large purchasing volumes. You were not only operationally active but also built structures, supplier strategies, and sustainable partnerships.
You have gained leadership experience and know how to structure, develop, and clearly align grown or rapidly expanding teams. You see growth, change, and dynamism not as a risk, but as a space for design.
You ensure material and supplier availability without compromise. You bring in-depth know-how in negotiation, supplier management, risk assessment, and process design – combined with assertiveness and entrepreneurial thinking.
Ideally, you also have experience in series production or mechanical engineering and have a good understanding of overall supply chain relationships to be able to make well-founded strategic decisions along the value chain.
The Special Thing About This Position:
You will play a key role in shaping a key department in a critical growth phase.
You will receive real creative freedom instead of rigid corporate structures.
You will work with direct access to management and short decision-making paths.
You combine strategy, technology and leadership in a role with high entrepreneurial relevance.
You build structures that last in the long term – and immediately see the effect of your actions.
A minimum salary from EUR 6,000 gross per month is offered for this position, with willingness to overpay, depending on experience and qualification.
