Job location: Ghent, Belgium
We are looking for a child psychiatrist to join the Multifunctional Center (MFC) Sint-Gregorius.
As a child psychiatrist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that makes a difference every day for children and young people with disabilities. You will provide psychiatric follow-up, guidance, and treatment to young people with autism spectrum disorder, behavioral and emotional difficulties, or an auditory or motor impairment. You will work closely with external care partners and colleagues from various disciplines – psychologists, therapists, counselors, doctors, and coordinators – to develop a customized pathway for each young person.
You will be responsible for medication and psychiatric assessment, follow up with clients, and look beyond the diagnosis. From a holistic and medical-ethical approach, you will contribute to treatment strategies and support forms. You will advise, inspire, and empower colleagues in their handling of complex situations, and actively contribute to the further development of our vision on psychiatric care.
You will combine clinical work with a consulting role within the pedagogical department. In this way, you will provide input for the further development of our care services and contribute to a warm, safe, and stable living environment in which young people can grow, learn, and relax.
